Apologies if this is not exactly on subject to this post I am commenting on, only I find the comment in paragraph 6 of the article linked below rather extraordinary:

"There is a great deal of evidence that the Russians are readying a massive assault to block the Ukrainian counteroffensive and drive deep into the country."

Granted, I do not have the same level of information as yourself nor George Freidman, only I have not heard any other source talking about the Russian Army 'readying a massive assault'.

The quote comes from the founder of GPF Geopolitical Futures, George Friedman, in an article entitled "Why the US Is Threatening to Send Cluster Bombs to Ukraine" dated 11 July 2023.

I have been reading George Freidman since 2006, when he was at Stratfor, and he is normally very tuned in.

What are your thoughts?
